Now, before we discuss transcripts in detail, it may help to know why a transcript is necessary, no matter what your teen plans to do after high school graduation. A transcript is necessary for college admissions officers, military recruiters, scholarship committees, technical and trade schools, and some employers may even request transcripts. Don't wait until your teen is a senior to get started on her transcript, instead, begin the transcript as soon as your teen completes high school-level courses, and then simply add to the transcript each subsequent year. Let's start with the definition of a transcript. A transcript is a document that shows the academic record of high school courses completed. Your transcript should be well-organized and look professional. We suggest you keep the transcript to one page. A transcript includes four main sections.
